Keep Calm and Get your School Social Worker

It seems like no matter what my IEP goal or treatment goal is for a student, I always end up working on coping skills.

Perhaps it is my age or generation but I feel like my students have more pressure on them and less skills to cope now a days.

In my office, I have my standbys like my Calm Down Corner. Thanks to the  Calm-Down-Kit  by Autism Adventures- Melissa Finch

My collection of stress toys (or fidgets).

My deep breathing visuals  (this is a new poster set I found at The Chalkboard by Carson -Dellosa for about 12 bucks)

Around October, after conferences, and in May, I get many more referrals to work with students on self control, self regulation, anger management, emotional management , you name it!

With 1 more week until summer, this is crunch time!    Spring is always the time of year when I need inspiration, new materials or just a boost.  I'm sharing my go to tech or apps with you!

Go Zen-  www.gozen.com
I discovered Go Zen on You Tube and eventually ended up buying year subscription.  I use it in my anxiety groups, anger management, self esteem groups, class groups for test prep, and my many mindful groups.  I love it!  It is pricey but if you use it every day, it's worth it!

Go Noodle.  www.gonoodle.com
This is the best website and I have converted many teachers into Go Noodle fans.  I knew they had active brain breaks on here but check out the FLOW channel, Think about it channel and Empower Tools channel.

Everyone can make it, just take a breath and relax!
